Kafom K

KAFOM K is a plant defense enhancer based on potassium phosphite.

The application of KAFOM K reinforces crop resistance against oomycete pathogens such as Phytophthora spp. and Pythium spp., by disrupting their metabolism and by promoting the synthesis of phytoalexins in the plant; these have an antimicrobial effect and activate stress response systems in crops. Thus, KAFOM K prevents the symptoms caused by infection by these pathogens, such as plant rot or watersoaking, which prevent the proper development of the crop and decrease yields.

In addition, KAFOM K supplies potassium, which is necessary for physiological processes such as protein synthesis and the opening and closing of the stomata, which maintains the firmness of the surrounding cells. The supply of potassium increases fruit quality, size, colour and flavour and strengthens the skin, facilitating its transportation and storage.
